I’m going to be a little silly this month (April Fools and all) and take Saturdays to just ramble a bit.
We got a puppy back in Sept. I hardly want to call him a puppy because he was 38 lbs when we got him. Tomorrow he will be a year old, and he now weighs over 100 lbs. For those who might be wondering, he is an AKC Great Dane. His name is Casper and it fits him well, he is mostly white with a smattering of black spots. He is sort of a rescue, as the family that had him from Mid July to Mid Sept, did not take care of him properly. He was about 20lbs underweight when we got him.
He is the funniest thing I have ever seen. My history with dogs is Dalmatians and German Shepherds, so Mid-sized dogs, not Large like our Casper. He can curl himself up into a ball and sit in a single seated living room chair, or he can stretch out and take up the entire 4-person couch. The thing he likes best to do, is to sit on the back of the couch in front of the window and watch the traffic drive by. I have never seen a dog do this before, cats yes, but a dog??
He has torn apart rope toys we bought him, rawhide bones and even a soccer ball. His favorite toys for the yard seem to be empty (and cleaned) plastic milk jugs. He grabs it and squishes it down like a pancake, and then tosses it in the air for himself. He hasn’t quite learned to “Play Fetch”, so we have to have a second jug hidden behind our back to persuade him to let go of the first one. But, this game could go on for half an hour.
So, this is our dog, and some of the things he does to entertain us. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading a little about him.
Till next time.
Happiness & Joy,
